Since 1975, Futura Fiberglass has specialized in fiberglass solutions for a variety of applications. With over 35 years of experience in tooling and fiberglass parts manufacturing and repairs, Futura has built a reputation of quality and craftsmanship in Southern California. But Futura's reputation and exposure exceeds their San Diego location and Southern California roots.
Futura is Joe Flores. It's Joe's design sense and attention to detail that drives the brand and permeates the products they create. In 1985, Joe started designing and manufacturing racing surf skis. He was the first manufacturer to build and offer them in complete clear carbon fiber, carbon/kevlar and custom designs. After a time, Joe sold the surf ski business and although under new ownership, the surf skis are still built with the same precision that originated with Joe's design and molds.
Advancements in Futura's tooling and their experience with the surf skis, allowed them to transition into developing car kits for exotic brands like Lamborghini, Ferrari and Porsche, where Futura's attention to detail and expert fitment were on display. High-end car kits led to a natural progression for Joe to combine two of his passions into one. Joe began doing frame-off car restorations, featuring classic Chevy Impalas.
